A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma or equivalency and six years of experience related to the duties of this position.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of academic program planning, development, and evaluation.

Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions including Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to communication effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty/staff, and parents.

Ability to problem solve and multitask.

Ability to train and supervise employees.

Ability to provide subject matter expertise, counsel others and provide advice.

Helpful: Knowledge of academic resources available to students.

Responsibilities: Responsible for providing and coordinating services for academic advisement and tutoring support on the FSU Panama City campus; supervises salaried and OPS staff; provides guidance and direction to staff involved in academic and tutoring services and programs, which may include advising services, event coordination, human resources, and organizational analysis.  Establishes and maintains close liaison with University academic departments to ensure coordination of effort and exchange of information; works closely with mapping coordinators and other relevant staff/faculty within all university academic units represented on the FSU Panama City campus in the evaluation of major specific requirements for current and prospective students; fosters retention of students and guiding students toward timely completion of degree.  Serves as the campus representative on university-wide committees related to academic support services and policy and oversees implementation and maintenance of advising and tutoring related initiatives on the campus. Responsible for interpreting state and University policies related to academic advising and support and ensuring procedures are carried out effectively.  Responsible for collecting and reporting on student statistics and evaluation of programs; collects and provides other data as assigned; responsible for program- related departmental advising and graduation clearance duties specific to FSU Panama City campus distance learning Computer Science students; works closely with the Department of Computer Science staff to develop limited access reports and facilitate the upper division certification Panama City campus distance learning Computer Science students.  Works with FSU Panama City academic faculty/staff and area state/community colleges by providing advising services in support of articulation agreements and direct connect programs for the FSU Panama City campus and on state/community college campuses.
