Sunland Center in Marianna, FL is a Developmental Disabilities Center (DDC) for persons with Disabilities.  The center is under the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities.  There are three civil units, as well as one Forensic Unit.  Most of the houses on center are Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF).  They are licensed under5 AHCA.  The residents here all participate in active treatment, which is monitored and carried out by the interdisciplinary team.  A Support Plan is completed at least annually and is reviewed quarterly to ensure the residents needs are mete.  Services provided include: medical, psychiatric, physical, occupational and speech therapy, vocational, recreational, and behavioral.  Social workers ensure continued contact with the resident's support network, assist with teransition at admision and discharge, complete pyschosocial assessments and social histories, participate in the multidisciplinary team, assist residents in getting benefits and managing their finances and meeting directly with residents to assist in meeting Support Planning goals.

Full-Time positions available for BSW, MSW 1st Yr. Students & MSW 2nd Yr.  Advanced Standing Students; Social Leadership and Clinical.  Video or taping is only permitted with written consent of the resident.  Sunland Center is a residential placement and thus weekend and evening hours are available.  However, the Social Work Staff hours are 8:00AM to 4:30PM.  The student will need transportation, as there is no bus accessibility.  Prior to beginning field placement, students must complete an application with volunteer services and have a background check.
