Information

The Florida Institute for Child Welfare is a legislatively mandated and funded entity to conduct research and evaluations to inform legislative policy, as well as organizational policy and practice to improve the safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes for families involved in child welfare.  While no direct services are provided at the Institute, we often fund or conduct evaluation and or research activities of agencies that do serve families.  Taking the information and findings from our work, we provide technical assistance and training to our stakeholders that include legislators, legislative staff, Department of Children and Families’ Leadership, community-based agencies, as well as child welfare professionals.

Special placement information:
Accepting MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (social leadership) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Liability insurance not required.
Agency hours: 9:00AM-5:00PM.

The Institute is a great option for students interested in learning about: how legislative policy is made, collaborating with state level leadership, research and program evaluation related to child welfare, and informing stakeholders about best practices and research relevant to their work.
