JFCS is a social services non-profit agency that serves youth and families to address housing, homelessness, substance use recovery, and mental health concerns. JFCS through its programming touches all facets of the lifespan serving youth 8 years of age throughout their adulthood. JFCS addresses community needs and fills gaps with a focus on unduplicated services within the Sarasota community. Programming includes: Aging, youth diversion, veteran homelessness, healthy relationships and fatherhood, youth impacted by substance use/addiction, those committed to sobriety through residential programming, and counseling for youth, individuals, elderly, groups, and families.
Special Placement Information:
The agency is accepting BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical, Part-time BSW, and Part-time MSW. The intern would be required only to travel 1.2 miles between main locations at times Business hours are 8:30 am-5:00 pm with counseling services offering hours up to 6 or 7 pm to address family needs. No weekend hours are required. The agency is accessible v Interns are not reimbursed for travel as it is limited. Students should carry insurance.
