Lightshare focuses on providing affordable and transformative support for those who may be experiencing mental health and addiction disorders. Our evidence-based approaches ensure that every individual and their families are supported throughout the journey. Our programs include impatience services, residential mothers and infants, day & night treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient. Our services cover all age ranges from middle school to elderly population. Social Work Intern will spend their time with each of our programs to gain a broad understanding of their role in patients, outpatient, and residential to apply how programs are run, and activity development such as group and one on one services. Social Work Intern will learn about advocacy for underserved populations, linkages to services (within and outside the organization), and provide assessments and ongoing care, The NASW Code of Ethics and Light Share's Pillars will be woven into their internship experience as they work with clients within the organization.
Special Placements Information:
The Agency is accepting Part-time MSWs. The intern will be assigned to a different program within the organization a month for a total of 3-4 months to meet their 12–16-hour requirement and exposure to a variety of social, and work roles and experiences at Lightshare. Social Work experience will incorporate and practice educational skills to meet their internship requirement. Internship Supervisor will allot a minimal one hour weekly for supervision and support. At the end of the internship, Lightshare will provide the intern with a $500 stipend.
