Pawnee provides mental health and substance use services to individuals of all ages in a 10 county wide service area in Kansas.
Social Workers provide a variety of services as qualified mental health practitioners (therapist) to case managers. The case managers provide psychosocial rehabilitation services, benefits/housing/employment specialty services, crisis intervention, & resource connecting.
Intern will:
- Create lesson plans for and facilitate psychosocial rehabilitation group for SPMI adults and SED youth
- Provide one-on-one support for SED youth
- Provide crisis intervention work with SPMI adults and SED youth
- Shadow other case managers and assist them with community psychiatric supportive treatment
- Assessment of mental health symptoms
- Creation of goal-oriented, person-centered, recovery-oriented treatment plans and plans of care
Special placement information:
Accepting BSW, MSW 1st-year, MSW 2nd-year/advanced standing (SL + clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Student has access to company vehicles, but if student must use personal vehicle travel is reimbursed.
This is a paid practicum - students are employees and covered under Pawnee's liability insurance.
Video and audio-taping not permitted.
Services can be provided 24/7 to fit consumer and student needs.
