Information

Hospice of Northwest Florida provides for the physical, emotional, and spiritual care patients and their families.  Patients must have a life limiting illness and a prognosis of 6 months or less to live.  Social workers work on an interdisciplinary team of nurses, home health aides, volunteers, doctors, bereavement specialists, and chaplains.  Services are provided to families up to one year following the death of the patient.  Free bereavement services are offered to the community.  Patients range in age from infancy to adulthood.  Social workers provide emotional support, assist with financial needs, assist with funeral arrangements, and provide community resource referrals.  Other social work duties include providing grief support and completing psychosocial assessments.

Special Information: 

BSW and 1st year and Clinical MSW, full or part-time placement.  Students must provide own transportation and are required to do home visits.
