Arcturus Hospice provides end-of-life care to improve the quality of life for people with terminal illnesses. We focus on palliative care that meets the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their families during the last stages of life. We serve individuals of all ages with the majority being the elderly, who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and have a prognosis of six months or less to live. Most of our patients are adults, but we also care for pediatric patients and their families. Social workers are an important part of the team, their main responsibilities include: Conducting assessments to understand the needs and preferences of patients and their families, providing emotional support and counseling, developing care plans that address the social, emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of patients.
