This means that students can work on their coursework during the part of the day or week that fits their schedule best. Students will be required to come to Tallahassee during their online studies. Many students also come to graduation so that they can meet people they have formed relationships with during the course of their studies. We offer both a traditional online MSW program and an advanced standing MSW program.  Please note that the advanced standing program is only for students who have earned a BSW from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited institution OR students interested in transferring from a two-year Traditional CSWE accredited MSW program who have completed their first year of studies to include a generalist field placement. Joint Graduate Pathway Programs

The FSU College of Social Work offers four joint graduate pathway programs for both traditional and advanced standing students, with full-time and part-time programs of study. Joint graduate pathways provide qualified master’s students with an opportunity to earn two master’s degrees or master’s/professional degrees from two academic degree programs. Joint graduate pathways share academic content that allows a student to expand their breadth of knowledge and content expertise to include additional domains not covered in a single degree.

Joint MSW/MBA Program, Main, Tallahassee Campus

The MSW/MBA is a joint collaboration between the College of Social Work and the College of Business. The joint graduate degree is designed for students in both programs who wish to expand their understanding of the connection between these two fields of study and gain expertise working in social services agencies. The MSW/MBA follows the Social Leadership Concentration for the courses pertinent to the MSW degree.

Joint MSW/JD Program, Main, Tallahassee Campus

This pathway program combines an MSW with a degree in law. Persons graduating with this dual degree go into areas, such as: family law, child advocacy, domestic violence, public policy, and public defense. Students interested in this dual degree must apply and be accepted to both the FSU College of Law and FSU College of Social Work. The MSW/JD can follow the Clinical Social Work Concentration or Social Leadership Concentration for the courses pertinent to the MSW degree.

Joint MSW/MPA Program, Main, Tallahassee Campus

The FSU Reubin O'D. Askew School of Public Administration and Policy and the College of Social Work offers a joint pathway program leading to the degree of Masters of Social Work and Masters of Public Administration. This is one of the few joint pathway programs in these fields offered in the U.S. This program prepares students for positions in public, private and nonprofit human service organizations by gaining knowledge in social work and public administration. The MSW/MPA follows the Social Leadership Concentration for the courses pertinent to the MSW degree.

Joint MSW/MS in Criminology and Criminal Justice, Main, Tallahassee Campus

This program is a collaboration between the College of Social Work and the School of Criminology & Criminal Justice. The joint pathway is for graduate students in Social Work and Criminology who wish to expand their understanding of the connection between these two fields of study and gain expertise in work with forensic clients. Students must apply and be accepted to each graduate program independently. The MSW/MBA follows the Clinical Social Work Concentration for the courses pertinent to the MSW degree.
