Capital City Youth Services, Inc., (CCYS) is a nonprofit that provides intervention and prevention services to youth and families. CCYS works with homelessness, runaways, and at­ risk youth to alleviate issues and strengthen families. CCYS utilizes a trauma informed approach to provide wrap-around care to youth. All services are free and confidential. There are no financial or insurance pre-requisites to receive services. CCYS has 5 programs ranging from counseling, crisis prevention, cognitive behavioral therapy, case management and temporary shelter to help youth ages 6 to 24. CCYS provides guidance, shelter and support to youth and families in the Big Bend area. When youth and families have a problem, we work to understand their needs and develop a plan where we can do our best to service them. CCYS is committed to serving families and strive to work with you and families to help get things on track.
Special Placement Information:

Agency is accepting BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical Students, (Clinical) Part-time BSW, Part-time MSW. Students will need their own transportation to and from our agency. We are located less than three miles from Florida State's main campus. The agency is located on the Star Metro Bus route. The agency does not provide reimbursement, stipends or any monetary aid to students. Audio or video taping is only permitted if the agency supervisor allows, and all of the necessary documentation and confidentiality paperwork is completed. The agency is open 9-5 (11-7 for counselors} Monday through Friday, however, one of our programs is open 24/7 and other may require weekend availability. Depending on the program a student intern selects, they will be able to have weekend or evening hours. CCYS conducts a Level II Background check, drug screening, fingerprinting, sex offender search, court orders search, local law records check and DCF/DJJ screenings. Our background screening is a 4–6-week process. Background screening must be complete before internship begins.
