Hospital based cancer clinic serving adults in Lynchburg, VA and surrounding counties.  Social work is an integral part of the oncology journey.  It involves care coordination, resource education and arrangement of services at home, advance care planning, brief counseling, active listening, support group facilitation, and teamwork in which the client is "captain of the ship" in their journey.  

Special Placement Information:

This agency is accepting MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical students, (Clinical), Part-time MSW.  Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am-5:00pm (for the agency).  Student hours may differ.  Centra does not offer paid social work internships a stipends.  Video and Audio taping are not permitted.  Pearson Cancer Center is conveniently located by Lynchburg General Hospital and is on the bus line.
