The Children's Network of Southwest Florida is the lead agency overseeing child welfare functions in Circuit 20. The agency serves children and families ranging in age. It collaborates with the Department of Children and Families to provide ongoing case management after an investigation is completed. We provide oversight and support for families engaged both in judicial and non-judicial settings. As well as work with children and families to oversee foster care and adoptions. The social workers in our agency are tasked with working with children and families in crisis, to provide support and resources to strengthen and preserve the family unit.

Weekly hours in field placement increase during the summer semester.Students are responsible for transportation to complete agency-related tasks and will not be reimbursed or provided with a stipend. If students purchase a liability insurance through the university, no further insurance is required. Students will need to complete a fingerprinting and background checking process which is provided by the agency. They are provided with agency-issued technology which they are expected to be responsible for. Students are expected to maintain confidentiality of all clients and activities; any discussion, audio or video taping, or photos without agency approval is prohibited. The agency hours are 8:00AM-5:00PM but students may experience other hours based on the needs of their placements within the agency.
