Jessie's Place is a child advocacy center where investigative efforts of law enforcement and DCF are coordinated and supported with collaboration from community partners of multiple disciplines. In our child-friendly facility, abused and neglected children receive specialized forensic interviews and medical exams. The children and their families receive advocacy services and trauma-focused, evidence-based therapy to help heal the trauma and begin their journey to recovery. Our mental health program includes individual, family, and group therapies. There are currently 5 licensed clinicians, and 1 registered intern employed to provide mental health services in our facility: 3 LCSW/2 LMHC

Accepting BSW, MSW 1st-year, and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (SL + clinical) students. The agency does not typically offer paid internships, but it does provide opportunities for paid training and conference attendance for qualifying interns. Jessie's Place's regular office hours are 8-5 Monday through Friday. Some evening and/or weekend hours are available. Opportunities for travel to outside agencies may be available to student interns. Students will be reimbursed for any agency travel in accordance with Federal reimbursement rates. Auto insurance is required. Opportunities for audio/videotaping are available for adult clients only with the approval of the Executive Director and the full knowledge and consent of the client.
