Cleveland Clinic is a non-profit academic medical center, that provides clinical and hospital care and is a leader in research, education and health information. We serve adults, 16 years of age and higher. The role of the cancer Institute social worker is to assess new patients, conduct distress screenings and depression screenings. We offer support services and make the appropriate referrals. The Sw will document in the electronic medical record (emr). The SW will meet with patients in person and telephonically.
Special Placement Information:
Accepting MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (clinical) students, part-time MSW. All hours/work are on-site, no traveling. No insurance is needed and we do not video or audio tape. The hours are Monday-/Friday 8:30-4:30 or less, with 30-minute lunch. Parking pass provided for off campus parking with shuttle bus service. (Also walking distance) Agency is accessible by bus. Non-smoking, mask wearing (around patients) environment. This is in a cancer department and student should feel comfortable with this population.
