We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission is to build peace and repair harm in Tallahassee/Leon County. We work to repair harm and trauma by supporting Restorative Justice initiatives. We work to prevent and reduce violence and trauma by supporting Nonviolent Communication training. This training equips community members to make healthy connections and address their problems peacefully. We seek to replace cycles of trauma and violence with practices of connection, healing, and a justice that facilitate accountability and restoration.
Special placement information:
Accepting BSW and MSW students. Part-time positions only.
Weekend and evening hours are available and limited but preferred.
No stipend is available.
Internship Specifics:
CFI is looking for part-time interns to support the organization in the brand-new program funded through the City of Tallahassee to create a Restorative Justice Program for young adults who are 18-28 years old. Your responsibilities may include serving as the Restorative Justice Community Liaison, supporting staff in CFI in community outreach events about restorative justice and the program as well as serving as a community liaison to connect the responsible parties of harm to supports and programs in our community. You will not be responsible for diagnosing or making referrals, but rather linking these individuals to resources that they indicate during the restorative justice process that might help meet some unmet needs for them.
