DeLaSalle is a charter high school serving grades 9-12 with an alternative diploma program and virtual academy.
Ages of students in attendance are 14-21 years old. Students are from the Kansas City Metro area and Kansas City Missouri school district. 
School Social Workers are responsible for promoting a positive social-emotional school environment. The Social Worker does this by meeting with students to evaluate a need for support services, completing referrals to outside agencies, communicating with parents and teachers to understand student needs, aiding students and families who may be homeless or suffering from abuse, violence, and/or hunger, and providing them corresponding resources. Social Worker is also responsible for being the liaison for McKinney Vento and foster care students in school. Their role is to support identified students with being academically successful, barriers with attending school, and maintaining consistent communication with student and family as needed.

Intern job description:
Social Work intern will be responsible for meeting with students and evaluating their need for outside resources: Mental Health, food banks, rental assistance, shelters, and others as needed. They will complete referrals to all resources and continue to work with family to ensure they can access needed resources. They will also be responsible for completing home visits as needed to meet with families and continue to ensure all needs are met. They will maintain consistent communication with students and meet with them on a regular basis based on student's needs. They will conduct one on one meetings with students on their caseload and facilitate groups for students.

Special placement information:
Accepting MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (clinical) students. Full-time positions available.
Transportation to complete home visits as needed required. Travel reimbursement available. 
COVID-19 vaccination encouraged, but not required.
Agency hours: 8:00AM-4:00PM. Alternative hours available with prior approval.
