FACETS opens doors by helping parents, children, and individuals who suffer the effects of poverty in Fairfax county.
FACETS meets their emergency shelter, food, and medical needs, help them gain safe, sustainable, and permanent housing, and work with them to end the cycle of poverty.
Each team within FACETS:
Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH)
Singles Team, housing individuals over the age of 18
Families Team, housing families with a member under the age of 18
Education and Community Development Team, providing enrichment programs, youth activities, and case management service
All teams serve culturally diverse communities of all age groups.
The role of Social Work within FACETS is to provide equitable, wholesome case management where the wellness of the client is the priority.
Intern job description:
Tasks and responsibilities of intern are similar to the role of staff, meaning the intern's role is vital to the success of the program.
Interns will be responsibilities include:
Helping with emergency assessments
Conducting regular food distributions to affordable housing communities as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic
Assisting/leading homework help activities with the youth and creating stimulating activities for youth and other community members
Interns are mandated reporters and must disclose any instances of potential abuse or neglect. Interns are required to be cognizant and self-aware of boundaries, communication, and active listening.
Special placement information:
Accepting BSW, MSW 1st-year, and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (SL + clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Valid drivers license and car insurance required. Transportation required. Travel reimbursement not available.
