The Florida National Guard is a reserve component of the the US Army, and it falls under the command of the Governor. The Guard can and is frequently called into active Federal and State service to respond to natural disasters, civil disturbances support of local authorities, augmentation of prison personnel and security, and overseas combat and combat support roles. In my roles as the Psychological Health Program Manager I supervise and oversee the work of a team of Psychological Health Coordinators, who are licensed independent providers, to case mange soldiers with Psychological health conditions, connecting them to resources, and communicating with commander and leader on their behalf. They also manage and provide support for a hotline. The population we serve are physically healthy military adults aged 17-60 years. We also have a sexual assault response coordinator section. The military has its own credentialing process for persons in these roles and does not employ clinicians. These individuals provide crisis intervention in the immediate aftermath of sexual assault and domestic violence. Participants in outreach efforts and collaboration with prevention specialist as well as local community agencies.
Transportation will be the student's responsibility, no reimbursement for travel. Audio and video taping in this organization would be prohibited to protect privacy. Hours are M-F 0700-1630 with alternate Mondays off. Weekends could be arranged in some circumstances.
