LSSNCA is a refugee resettlement agency, the largest in the DMV. 
LSSNCA resettles SIV, APA, asylees, and refugee clients of all ages, from all parts of the world. 
The case managers are responsible for resettling clients by completing services such as finding housing, applying for benefits. referring clients to other programs, and other tasks alike. 
LSSNCA has resettled the highest number of Afghan evacuees in the US from the most recent Afghan evacuation.

Intern job description:
Help case managers complete all core services mandated through the Department of State Cooperative Agreement within allocated timeframes.
Assist in finding suitable and affordable housing and setting up the apartment with the support of the Logistics Coordinator, and the Case Manager.
Contact area service providers through mailings, phone inquiries, and  person-to-person meetings to provide them program information and to inquire about available services. Make referrals as appropriate.
Assist eligible clients in accessing legal services to apply for Employment Authorization documents and adjustment of status.
Assist in conducting intakes and completing needs assessments. Assist Case Managers and enrolled clients in developing service plans for achieving employment and self-sufficiency.

Special placement information:
Accepting BSW, MSW 1st-year, and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (SL + clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Transportation not required. Agency accessible by public transit.
Stipend not available.
Liability insurance not required.
Agency hours: 9:00AM-5:00PM. Evening and weekend hours available.
COVID-19 vaccination and booster required. 
Background check required. The cost is $20.75. Cost must be covered by student.
