Madigan Army Medical Center serves Active Duty, Military Retirees, Veterans, Dependents, and Civilian Trauma (when on rotation for Traumas in the Community). We serve newborns to senior care up until end-of-life care. The intern will work in the Emergency Department and mostly on completing BH Crisis Evaluations and discharging planning including giving patients needed resources, planning for discharge home with a safety plan/safety check apt, and transferring patients for inpatient Behavior Health services. This MSW is also called to the medical floors to complete social work consults which include a wide variety of concerns, such as possible APS situations, assistance with alcohol or drug treatment, and providing community resources. This LICSW is also a member of the CHAT Team that assists with possible non-accidental trauma cases in ages newborn through age 17 including calling CPS, Law Enforcement, & emailing the Family Advocacy Program PRN.

The Agency is accepting Part-time MSWs. A stipend is not available with this Internship. No insurance is needed for the Internship. No audio or videotaping is permitted by the Intern.
