The Manatee County School District is a rapidly growing, intermediate-size district with a long tradition of excellence in academics and athletics. 
The District has an enrollment of over 40,000 students and 4,500 employees with culturally and linguistically diverse student body and staff.  The Manatee County School district currently has 31 elementary schools, 9 middle schools, 6 high schools, a variety of charter schools and alternative schools, and two adult education centers.  The majority of the schools are new or updated.  The district is planning to build three elementary schools and a new middle school within the next two years.  All schools have state-of-the-art technology, and curriculum that is aligned with the standards of the state of Florida. 
School Social Workers are part of the Student Services department which also includes school counselors, school psychologists, the evaluation center for PreK students and the Safe and Drug Free Schools Programs. The department currently employs 11 school Social Workers for the K-12 population. As members of the educational team, school Social Workers promote and support student academic and social success by providing specialized services that include professional case management, collaboration with school staff and community agencies, consultation with parents and teachers, individual and group counseling, social and developmental assessments, assistance in interventions for behavioral and academic issues, crisis intervention, and ESE assessment/process support.

Accepting MSW 1st-year and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (SL + clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
