Penelope House, Inc. serves Intimate Partner Violence Victims and their children in Mobile Washington, Clarke and Choctaw Counties of AL.  Penelope House provides safety, protection, prevention education, outreach services, transitional living, and community outreach.  The student will be placed in the shelter which provides 24/7365 services which include crisis line, case management, and children advocacy.   The student will be oriented to all P&P of the agency.  The student will be trained to complete crisis calls and intakes.  Complete safety planning, case management, and referral to community resources.  In shelter support groups as well as community education and outreach, programs the student will complete assessments and provide interventions with working with clients and children.

Special Placement Information

BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing, (clinical), Part-time BSW, Part-time MSW.  The shelter is a confidential location.  The student may not have anyone come to the shelter.  The student will not drive while in a field placement for the agency.  There is no accessible bus service.  Weekend and evening hours are available.  There is no stipend available.  The student must provide a Valid DL., current registration current ins on auto.
