Agency Description:

Licensed as an inpatient substance use disorder treatment facility with the WA State Department of Health to provide clients with co-occurring (mental health and SUD) disorders with services to support them in their recovery. We serve adults 18+ years of age. We have 10 beds for clients who identify as female and 22 beds for clients who identify as male. The role of the social worker is to provide psychoeducation, assessment and counseling to clients in regard to their mental health needs. The social worker will also support clients in planning for their after-care.

Intern Job Description:
The intern will be assigned four clients to assess, diagnose and treat with mental health counseling modalities such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy, CBT, Person-Centered Approach, REBT, and/or Motivational Interviewing. The intern will teach 2-3 group classes utilizing the EBPs, Living In Balance and The Change Companies reflective journaling. The intern will support her clients in after care planning, including obtaining clean and sober housing.

Special Information:

This agency accepts BSW, MSW 1st, and MSW 2nd year and advanced standing students, both social leadership and clinical, both full time and part time. 
The intern would need to provide his/her/their own transportation. If the intern travels to trainings, travel is reimbursed. We have company vehicles the intern can drive as well. No stipends are available. Pioneer covers liability insurance. Video and audio taping is permitted as long as the client agrees. We are open 24/7 but the intern’s hours are mainly day time Monday through Friday, but evening and weekend hours are permitted, Agency is accessible by bus. Covid-19 Vaccination is required.
