This placement is with the Saint John's County Sheriff's Office Corrections Divisions Reentry Program.
The primary purpose of this program is to ease the reentry of county sentenced inmates back into the community. 
Program participants are male and female inmates, aged 18+. 
This is a voluntary program that involves developing an individualized case management plan for each inmate that will give them the best chance of not returning to jail and becoming valued members of the community.

Intern job description:
This position works with the SJSO Reentry Program.
Intern is responsible for:
Conducting one-on-one assessments with inmates
Developing a case management plan
Meeting with inmates to assess progress
Assist with inmate crisis intervention and psychological first aid
Facilitate life skills groups for inmates as needed

Special placement information:
Accepting BSW, MSW 1st-year, and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (SL + clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
We would prefer this internship opportunity be employment-based, however, we would be willing to consider special circumstances.
Agency hours: 24/7. 
Dress code is business casual. No shorts or open-toed shoes.
Transportation required. Agency accessible by public transit, but not dependable. Travel reimbursement not available.
Video-/Audio-taping not permitted unless given approval.
COVID-19 vaccination not required.
