South Florida State Hospital (SFSH) is a psychiatric state hospital serving person served with severe and chronic mental illnesses. The majority of our population are involuntarily committed via the Baker Act for treatment. SFSH is majority a civil hospital, however we also service Forensic (ITP/NGI) step-down from Forensic State Hospitals.. SFSF services any adult over the age of 18. The social workers main responsibility is to be part of treatment team, identify and placement, as well
as be a liason between SFSH person served and the community.

Special Placement Information:

Accepting MSW 1st-year and 2nd-year (clinical) students, full-time only. Any transportation done with SFSH is done with company vehicles. Video/Audio is not permitted
