South Florida Wellness Network (SFWN) is a peer-driven Recovery Community Organization serving youth, adults, and families in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. The agency provides recovery-oriented peer support, groups, harm reduction, outreach, and linkages to resources for participants impacted by substance use, mental health, and trauma. Recovery Peer Specialists use lived experience, social work principles, and evidence-based practices to promote recovery, resiliency, and self-determination. SFWN also engages in advocacy at the local, statewide, and national levels to advance
recovery and wellness.
Special Information
The Agency accepts BSW 32 hours, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year, and advanced standing, Full and Part-time. Social Policy and Administration, part-time BSW, part-time MSW. The intern will need to be able to transport herself to community events on some occasions. Travel and stipends are not available, but the bus is. Students do not need Liability insurance. Videotaping is not permitted, but audio taping is permitted upon approval of the individual. We are open now M-F 8 am-7 pm, but also have a lot of weekend events. We will also be opening the wellness center soo,n which will be M-S 8 am to 9 pm and Sun 9-5.
