Intern job description:
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic offers a unique opportunity to provide high quality clinical education for students most committed to serving our client population.
The clinic specializes in targeted, evidenced based care for post 9/11 veterans and family members dealing with post-traumatic stress as well as other mental health conditions.
Military cultural competence is an essential component of the internship. Interns with the Cohen Clinic will gain a better-than-average understanding of the ways in which war has impacted veterans and military families.
The Cohen Clinic is able to offer interns a small stipend.
The student will be engaged in several aspects of the clinic, learning about and performing tasks in the following areas: intake coordination, case management, therapeutic intervention, and group facilitation.
Through the guidance of the field instructor, the student will work toward improved understanding of psychosocial assessments, evidenced-based practices, treatment planning, and data collection to provide the best care to veterans and their families.
During weekly clinical team meetings, the student should expect to be considered a full member of our clinical team.
An intern with the Steven A. Cohen Military Family clinic will complete their internship with increased competence, confidence, and clinical skill to provide high quality treatment for veterans and their family members. For more information about our clinic please visit us at centerstone.org/cohen
