There are two LCSWs on the Pain Management, Behavioral Health team at TOC. One of the providers does in-house therapy (primarily CBT, ACT, and EMDR) for mainly pain patients and a variety of internal TOC specialty physician practices. The other provider does the Health Behavior Assessment and Intervention, which includes Behavioral Health Navigation, brief CBT/MI to increase patient adherence, and administration of assessments/screeners, as needed. TOC Pain Management also offers workshops for pre- and post-surgical patients, and for coping skills to address condition-specific needs.
Students will be facilitating/co-facilitating groups, participating in staffing, reviewing and administering progress monitoring tools (PHQ-9, GAD 7, CD-RISC, for example), conducting follow-up calls/duties, and integrating policy and research into clinical practice.
