United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County's mission is to mobilize and support a robust network of people, partners, and resources to co-create opportunities for every person in our community to live free from poverty and injustice. We employ the community school strategy as the organizing framework for elevating student success, supporting families, and engaging communities throughout Buncombe County. The Social Work interns are based at a community school working with either middle or high school students. The student supports the Community School Coordinators in being a resource hub for the community. Community School Coordinators are placed on school campuses to foster and organize strong partnerships. Intern will primarily provide support to the Coordinators as well as get involved with the school Social Worker and student services team.
