UnityPoint Health Des Moines is a level I trauma center hospital located in Iowa. We serve the adult population 18 years and older (Blank Children’s Hospital provides healthcare services for children under 18). We cover a variety of arenas from inpatient hospitalization, rehabilitation, home care, hospice and clinic services. Social Workers serve a variety of functions within the system by completing bio/psycho/social assessments on patients served as well as providing community resources, emotional support, and education. We work closely with care coordination to arrange 
safe discharge plans for patients and their families.

Special placement information:

Accepting BSW, MSW 1st-year, MSW 2nd-year (clinical) full-time positions only. Primary hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm however we have additional coverage after hours and weekends in a limited fashion. Travel is not provided however should only be needed to get to/from location each day. The agency is accessible by bus should this be needed
