YFA is a progressive not-for-profit organization of 350+ staff who are dedicated to working in partnership with communities and families to create a safe, nurturing environment for children to have a stable family.  The age range of the children we serve is dependent upon the program of internship The Case Management program is our child placing program that manages DCF children of care who were legally removed from their parent or guardian. The age range for this program is newborn to 17 years of age. Our Residential program offers temporary housing for youth aged 10-17 years of age.

Special Placement Information

The Agency is accepting BSW Full-time MSW 1st year students, Part-time BSW and Part-time MSW.  Intern would be working in a shelter setting which is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week to serve the needs of the children who reside there.  The intern should not be transporting or driving as part of their experience.  Shelters are equipped with surveillance videotaping to ensure the safety of children and staff.  Outside video and audio should not be taken.
