Special Information Placement

NO stipends are available.  Students would need to be able to travel to the agency on scheduled days.  Students would need to have vehicle access if they were wanting to have the opportunity to shadow acute sexual assault cases, which typically occurs in the second semester.  Due to the nature of the work done as a rape crisis center, students should self-reflect on any personal trauma they may have experienced to determine if they are ready and able to do work that may be intensive and triggering.  Students with the ability to communicate in multiple languages, including ASL are encouraged to apply.  Students must pass level 2 background-paid by the agency.  Students must take a 30-hour Advocacy Core Training course before starting (hours may county towards internship if permitted by the university)  VSC currently operates both in-person and virtual due to COVID.
