SCC or EAMC provides diagnostic testing treatment and follow up to oncology patients and hematology patients.  The service includes physical and health care support, emotional support, mutual aid group. Wellness support in aftercare, dietary support, financial support, and resource linkage.  We serve all adults (18 and on up) In an outpatient setting despite funding source, mainly in Alabama but some Georgia residents choose to come us as well.  Social workers assist with resource linkage to resources such as home health, hospice, DME, specialty pharmacies for oral chemo, copay assistance, free drug programs, counseling services, charitable programs, transportation, and EAMC’s ACA certified counselor.  We serve the medical oncology department, radiation oncology department, and hematology.  We are also responsible for screening and assessing potential suicidality with our patients.

Special Information Placement:

BSW Fulltime, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing, Part-time MSW.  Transportation is needed to and from the center to work, all work is within the center an orientation checklist needs to be completed prior to starting internship.
