Agency Description

Southwestern Mental Health Center (SWMHC) is a private, non-profit agency, established in 1949.  Our goal is to provide a broad scope of quality mental health services to people of all ages and economic backgrounds in the 5 counties that we serve.  Social Worker duties or role is to provide Out-patient Mental Health Services which include individual and group psychotherapy, marital and family counseling, employee assistance program, home-based family therapy services, case consultation, and public education services.

Important Information

Accepting MSW 2nd Year/Advanced Standing (Clinical) students. Full-time and Part-time hours available.  For the most part, transportation would be provided if a student needed to travel; mileage reimbursement is available.  Video or audio taping is not permitted.  There is no weekend work unless the student chooses to work at our 24/7 Residential Treatment Center for part of the internship.  Evening hours will be possible if scheduled to work during one of our extended outpatient days.  Typically, all centers are open one day a week until 8:00pm CST.
