The Office of the Public Defender provides legal representation to indigent individuals facing criminal charges - juveniles, adults, and individuals on involuntary commitment proceedings.  The LCSW provides biopsychosocial evaluations for purposes of statutory or Non statutory mitigation for adults facing felony charges.

Special placement information:

The Agency is accepting MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical Students.  Student needs transportation. Travel occurs between the office and the local jail. Students need liability insurance. No video or audio taping is permitted. There is no reimbursement for travel. Interviews occur in the jail, so students need to be comfortable in incarceration settings.  Weekend hours are available but preference is for students to complete most hours
