Spotsylvania County Public Schools is the 11th largest public school division in the state of Virginia.
We serve students from the ages of 2 to 22 in the public education setting. We have 17 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, 5 high schools, 1 career and technical education center, and 1 alternative educational center. We currently serve about 23,000 students.  The intern will be assigned to one of the division's licensed clinical social workers. The intern will be placed in the middle school setting and learn first hand the field of school social work. The intern will support individual and group sessions with students, parent meetings, learn the Children Services Act process, partner with community stakeholders, and gain insight from the larger school social work team and office of Mental Health and Wellness stakeholders.

Special Placement Information:

MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing students, -    The intern will need to provide their own transportation.
-    The intern will need to cover their own living expenses, as no stipend is provided.

-    The intern can video tape and audio tape sessions/services with written parental consent from participants.
