Agency Description:
This internship will focus on developing therapy skills working with children and teens in an emergency department(ED) environment. Our program is designed to serve ages 6-22 and who have been assessed in the ED and are awaiting psychiatric inpatient treatment. Interns will observe therapy session, learn proper documentation, and developing psychotherapy skills. There are also opportunities to practice family therapy and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the hospital environment.
Special Information:
This agency accepts full and part-time MSW 2nd year/advanced students, clinical track. Part time can be accepted if agreed upon having enough clinical experience. There is no stipend available for this internship. Students are expected to be covered by liability insurance through their school or personal means. There is no video or audio taping permitted in our setting for HIPPA protection Evening or weekend hours maybe able to be provided with collaborative teams but are focused more on assessment of individuals.
