Stepping Forward Counseling has two locations in CA (Irvine and Yorba Linda) and one location in NJ (Chatham). We are a mental health organization who works with children and adolescents aged 5 to 18 who are struggling with neuro-biological disorders, emotional issues, and/or mental illnesses. We offer and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a Partial Care Day Program (PCP) that include individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and psychiatric evaluation/therapy. We treat both the client (child/adolescent) and the family unit. Each client has an individualized treatment plan with 7 treatment goals. Our programs are on a Token Economy System. We offer a Social Skills Training Curriculum, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Art Therapy and other modalities in our programs. We are a multidisciplinary team with Social Workers, MFTs, Professional Counselors, Psychiatrist, and Psychologists.
 

Special Placement Information:

The Agency is accepting BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing, (Clinical) Part-time BSW, Part-time MSW.  We do not provide transportation for the student's daily commute. If we send the student to a school meeting, we reimburse the mileage. For fieldtrips we provide a bus from our facilities. Students should be covered by their school's provided liability insurance; we don't require additional insurance. Video or audio taping is allowed as long as the client's guardian has provided written approval. Intern hours available are:  During the school year: Monday-Thursday 10:00 am - 6:00pm / During the summer: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
