Information

The Behavioral Health Collaborative is a partnership between Union County Department of Social Services (DSS) and Union County Public Schools. We support students from Kindergarten to 12 grade in schools across our county. School social workers provide an array of supports to students included social & emotional support, skill building groups, crisis intervention & advocacy, referral & connection to community resources, etc.

Transportation is needed to get to the schools served, our DSS location, community resources, etc., however we do not transport the students or families served. Travel is not reimbursed, and this is not a paid internship. Our student interns have always had Liability Insurance coverage from their university. Audio taping is permitting with authorization from the student and parent/guardian. The interns’ hours are based on the school schedule at the assigned school. We do not have consistent evening and weekend opportunities for students to accumulate internship hours. We do not have traditional public transportation in this community, but students can seek transportation through Union County Transportation Services.

No Stipend.
