Mt Hood Hospice provides interdisciplinary supportive services for individuals and their loved ones who have a terminal diagnosis and a prognosis of less than 6 months to live. All patients have access to medical staff, a social worker and a chaplain to address different aspects of their experience. This placement is with the bereavement coordinator and is primarily focused on supporting family members during the first year after a patient has died. There are also opportunities to engage in the support groups for grief support and for caregivers, to assist with curriculum research, development, implementation and evaluation, to assist with data tracking and evaluation of services, create resource guides, and assist the agency Social Worker, Volunteer Coordinator or Chaplain as opportunities arise. Interns are also able to engage in community outreach activities and events.
Students will be in the office in Sandy, OR two days a week and need to provide proof of insurance. Our hours are 8:30-4:30 Mon-Fri. We are not able to reimburse mileage. No stipend.
