Better Steps Life Skills Center is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering individuals with diverse abilities and needs to achieve greater independence, self-sufficiency, and quality of life. We serve youth and adults, generally ranging from ages 14 through adulthood, including those with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and other barriers to employment or daily living skills. Our programs provide comprehensive support in self-advocacy, job readiness, employment placement, life skills development, and community integration. Social work plays a vital role in delivering person-centered services, conducting needs assessments, coordinating resources, advocating for clients’ rights, and ensuring that individuals receive the guidance and support necessary to reach their goals. Better Steps Life Skills Center operates in both in-person and virtual settings, serving clients in South Florida, Tallahassee, and beyond through remote programming.
Special Placement Information:
The Agency accepts BSW Full-time and MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical students. Students will not need any reimbursement for travel, liability insurance, etc. This internship is unpaid.
