Field Opportunities and Locations
Students are placed in a wide range of agencies and organizations where they gain hands-on experience working with client populations and addressing complex social challenges.
Out-of-State Placements
Out-of-state placements are reserved for online students residing in the respective geographic areas. Students will work directly with field liaisons to identify a field placement in the area of interest. The map below shows where the College of Social Work has active field placement agreements. *Please note that if there is not currently an indicator of active placement, there is the possibility of a new placement being identified for enrolled students in collaboration with dedicated field liaisons.
Exceptions for On-Campus Students
Only campus-based students who meet criteria at the BSW or MSW level and who complete a final or advanced placement will be considered for internships outside Tallahassee in geographical areas covered by field liaisons. Main campus students who request an out-of-state internship must meet the criteria and be approved by the director of field education.
