Kimberly Harvey

Kimberly Harvey, MSW, is an assistant teaching professor for the College of Social Work. She brings 20 years of child welfare practice experience to the classroom, having served in roles ranging from frontline case manager to supervisor, trainer, and leadership development specialist. Prior to joining the college full-time, Kimberly was the lead professional development trainer for the Florida Institute for Child Welfare's Alliance for Workforce Enhancement (AWE) Leadership Academy, where she developed and facilitated leadership programs for child welfare professionals across Florida. She has taught at the College since 2022 and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Social Work at Florida Atlantic University. Her research interests focus on child welfare supervision, leadership development, workforce well-being and organizational strategies that support retention and resilience. Passionate about connecting theory to practice, Kimberly uses experiential learning, community partnerships and real-world case examples to help students develop the skills and critical thinking needed for professional social work practice.
