Information

Capital Action Agency provides a system of services and resources to reduce the detrimental effects of poverty, empower low-income citizens with skills and motivation to become self-sufficient, and improve the overall quality of their lives and their community.  Population served ranges from 3 and 4 year olds in Head Start and adults.  The Family Support Services Department has a self-sufficiency program called Getting Ahead/Staying Ahead.  Case managers screen, facilitate Getting Ahead sessions and case manage the clients in those sessions.  Once the clients successfully complete Getting Ahead (approximately 4 months), they move into Staying Ahead in which they receive help with education, job training and are case managed as well. In addition, the case manager works with mentors who provide guidance and advise for Staying Ahead clients.
