Information

The mission of CPC is the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse. The MSW Placement would specifically be with the CPC Therapy Programs as a clinical intern or as a victim advocate. In this role, therapy services would be provided to the following populations: 1) children (3-17) of sexual abuse or physical abuse (and their non-offending caregivers), and 2) children (3-17) experiencing problematic sexual behaviors (and their non-offending caregivers). The clinical team is led by an LCSW and the agency runs from a social work framework including multi-dimensional community services and interdisciplinary teams. Therapists work closely with child welfare entities such as the Department of Children and Families, Child Protection Team, local foster care agency, and other social services. Therapists provide individual, family, and group treatments to facilitate recovery and healing from abuse through trauma-treatment. For those seeking the victim advocacy placement, there would also be an opportunity to learn and Observe the Criminal justice system. If you are passionate about intervening and treating child abuse, working in child welfare, or providing trauma-treatment to children and families, this is a placement for you to consider!
