Brenda Legaspi

Brenda Legaspi is an Assistant Teaching Professor for the Florida State University College of Social Work. Her clinical experience includes working with older adults, veterans, the terminally ill, children, couples, and families. She has presented at state conferences and served on both the Governor’s Transportation Advisory Board and a local hospital’s Bioethics Committee. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida and a Qualified Supervisor. Brenda has served in a variety of social work roles, including grief counseling, end-of-life care, gerontological social work, and medical social work. Brenda’s clinical expertise is in cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, trauma-focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and play therapy. She is also experienced in approaches that integrate cognitive-behavioral therapy with spirituality. Brenda assists the Field Education department coordinate internships for out-of-state students in the Online MSW program. She also enjoys serving in her local community as a volunteer with Cub Scouts, the local school district, and initiatives such as Hunger Fight and Blessings in a Backpack.
