CSW Ambassadors: Our Newest Social Work Student Leaders

Since the CSW Ambassadors program began two years ago, it has grown exponentially to include its newest cohort of FSU College of Social Work student leaders. As CSW Ambassadors, these twelve undergraduate and graduate social work students act as the student face of the college.  Working actively with faculty and staff, the CSW Ambassadors represent the brand and values of the College of Social Work while advocating for their fellow students alongside social work education and the profession. Learn more about each of them below:

Danny Bevil is an undergraduate social work student in his junior year with interest in working in Christian ministry.

Aliyah Campbell is a senior undergraduate social work student with a passion for working with children and families. She has a fraternal twin sister and also has a set of identical twin sisters.

Anne Nicole Dela Cruz is a senior undergraduate social work student interested in working with immigrant populations and youth in crisis.

Zoe Genkin is an undergraduate social work student and is minoring in child development. She aspires to work in school social work as a middle school guidance counselor. Before attending Florida State, she was also a pole vaulter in high school.

Lauren Harrison is a graduate social work student in the advanced standing Clinical MSW program and is focusing on medical social work.

Alana Henry is a social work graduate student in the MSW Program Social Leadership concentration with interest in focusing on international affairs and public diplomacy. She was a Global Ties U.S. 2017 Emerging Leader and flew to Washington, D.C. to meet ambassadors and diplomats from around the world as well as participate in public diplomacy simulation at the U.S. Department of State.

Hannah Johns is an undergraduate student social work in her sophomore year. She is interested in working in medical social work. For the past four years, Hannah has also worked closely with ministry work in Costa Rica during the summer.

Kapria Lee is a second-year social work graduate student in the MSW and Master’s in Public Administration joint degree program. She is interested in drug and criminal justice policy. Kapria is also a recipient of the 2017 the Phi Alpha Honor Society MSW Scholarship Award because of her strong background in scholarship, leadership, service and profession/career.

Rachael McDowell is a first-year social work graduate student in the MSW and Master’s in Criminology and Criminal Justice joint degree program. She is interested in community relations and the reentry of incarcerated individuals into society. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and is also a Gators fan.

Katherine Parker is an advanced-standing social work graduate student in the MSW program Social Leadership concentration. She has a passion for working with refugees. She completed her BSW field placement at FSU with a small non-profit organization providing mental health counseling to refugees in Jacksonville, Florida.
 
Cara Scott is a first-year social work graduate student MSW and Master’s in Criminology and Criminal Justice joint degree program. She aspires to be a forensic interviewer, working with abused or neglected children and would like to become an expert witness to testify on behalf of these children. Her family hobby is judging barbecue contests throughout the southern region.  She and her parents are both certified barbeque judges.

Rachel Schneider is an undergraduate social work student and is a junior. She hopes to work with seniors and in the area of hospice social work.
