CSW Ambassadors: Our Newest Social Work Student Leaders

Since the creation of the FSU College of Social Work Ambassador Program, the program has seen some tremendous growth. This year, the program welcomes nineteen social work leaders in all the College’s undergraduate (BSW) and graduate programs (MSW, Ph.D.).  As a CSW Ambassador, these students serve as the face of the college and serve in multiple roles throughout the year.  

These students work actively with faculty and staff to represent the values and mission of the College of Social Work and the profession.

Join us in welcoming the 2018-2019 cohort of CSW Ambassadors:

Danny Bevil is an undergraduate social work student in his senior year. He is interested in working in the Christian ministry and is currently learning to play guitar.
 

Aliyah Campbell is a graduate student in the advanced standing MSW program who has an interest in child welfare and as well as individuals and families. She also has a fraternal twin sister.

Kaileen Chapple is an undergraduate social work student in her third-year who is interested in policy and advocacy work for underrepresented populations. She has served as a teacher for persons affected by blindness using tactile sign language.
 

Faith Dekanter is an undergraduate social work student in her senior year who has an interest in foster care, fundraising, and non-profit development. She also serves as an FSU Community Ambassador for the Center for Leadership & Social Change at the Kearney Center.
 

Anne Nicole Dela Cruz is a graduate student in the advanced standing Clinical MSW program who is interested in juvenile justice and victim advocacy. She also plays the saxophone.
 

Carrow Garrison is a second-year graduate social work student in the MSW Clinical program who is interested in advocacy for adolescents and families.
 

Zoe Genkin is a graduate student in the advanced standing Clinical MSW program with an interest in children and international education. She traveled with the College of Social Work to Grenada in the East Caribbean through the Alternative Spring Break Program.
 

Hannah Johns is an undergraduate social work student in her junior year. She interested in working in the medical field. She is an avid plant lover.
 

Emily Keeney is a graduate student in the MSW Social Leadership. She is also enrolled in the Master in Public Administration Leadership Certificate Program. She would love to work in non-profit administration and she loves to cook.
 

Kapria Lee is a graduate student in the MSW and Master of Public Administration joint degree program and holds a keen interest in policy analysis. She is also the student representative for the National Association of Social Workers Florida Chapter.
 

Cassidy Lewis is an undergraduate social work student in her third year whose interest focuses on the intersection of child advocacy, social entrepreneurship, policy, and administration. She is also the studio lead for Design for America at Florida State University.
 

Rachael McDowell is a second-year graduate student seeking a dual degree in social work and criminology who has an interest in criminal justice and social work. She is also excited to attend the trip to Grenada with the college this spring break!
 

Jennifer Moore is an undergraduate social work student in her junior year who is interested in prison social work and anger management.
 

Sandi Olson is a second-year doctoral student at the College of Social Work. She has a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and her social work research explores food in relation to child welfare, food insecurity, and health disparities. Her research interests also pertain to mental health, trauma, substance abuse, and social policy.
 

Elliot Schmidt is a graduate social student in the advanced standing Clinical MSW program who would like to do clinical work with LGBTQ+ populations. He currently works at Refuge House and hopes to eventually pursue his doctoral degree.
 

Rachel Schneider is a senior undergraduate social work student interested in gerontology and a huge fan of musical theatre.
 

Cara Scott is a second-year graduate student pursuing a dual degree in social work and criminology. She is interested in working with victims and children and is also a certified scuba diver.
 

Laura Seese is a master’s student on the clinical track who wants to go into clinical work. She also has a one-year-old puppy named Charlie.
 

Lauren Wade is an undergraduate social work in her junior year with an interest in administrative roles, Veterans Affairs, and overall public health. She also loves dachshunds and corgis.
