CSW Ambassadors: Our Newest Social Work Student Leaders

Since the creation of the FSU College of Social Work Ambassador Program, the program has seen some tremendous growth. This year, the program welcomes nineteen social work leaders in all the College’s undergraduate (BSW) and graduate programs (MSW, Ph.D.).  As a CSW Ambassador, these students serve as the face of the college and serve in multiple roles throughout the year.  

These students work actively with faculty and staff to represent the values and mission of the College of Social Work and the profession.

Headshot of Danny BevilDanny Bevil is an undergraduate social work student in his senior year. He is interested in working in the Christian ministry and is currently learning to play guitar.
 

Headshot of AliyaCampbellAliyah Campbell is a graduate student in the advanced standing MSW program who has an interest in child welfare and as well as individuals and families. She also has a fraternal twin sister.

 

Headshot of Kailen ChappleKaileen Chapple is an undergraduate social work student in her third-year who is interested in policy and advocacy work for underrepresented populations. She has served as a teacher for persons affected by blindness using tactile sign language.
 

Headshot of Faith DekanterFaith Dekanter is an undergraduate social work student in her senior year who has an interest in foster care, fundraising, and non-profit development. She also serves as an FSU Community Ambassador for the Center for Leadership & Social Change at the Kearney Center.

Headshot of Cassidy LewisCassidy Lewis is an undergraduate social work student in her third year whose interest focuses on the intersection of child advocacy, social entrepreneurship, policy, and administration. She is also the studio lead for Design for America at Florida State University.

Headshot of Sandi OlsonSandi Olson is a second-year doctoral student at the College of Social Work. She has a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and her social work research explores food in relation to child welfare, food insecurity, and health disparities. Her research interests also pertain to mental health, trauma, substance abuse, and social policy.
 

Elliot Schmidt is a graduate social student in the advanced standing Clinical MSW program who would like to do clinical work with LGBTQ+ populations. He currently works at Refuge House and hopes to eventually pursue his doctoral degree.
