MSW Alumna assumes Big Brothers Big Sisters leadership position
MSW alumna Courtney Cook joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida as Vice President of Development. Cook is a licensed clinical social work. She earned her MSW in clinical social from FSU College of Social Work in 2010 and her undergraduate degree from the University of West Florida.
Cook has more than thirteen years of experience in the non-profit community. Previously, she worked for Covenant Hospice, Alzheimer’s Family Services, and most recently at Baptist Hospital’s Cancer Institute where she led a successful mission of growth for the cancer support program.
In her new role at Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cook will lead efforts for event sponsorship, donor development, and partnership cultivation.
“I love the not for profit world. I believe in the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters and feel honored to be chosen to be a part of such a force in our community,” said Cook. “I feel that my previous positions have all collided to ready me to be at Big Brothers Big Sisters at this exact moment in time.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida is an area leader in one-on-one youth service for 28 years by providing caring, adult mentoring for children ages six to 18. The organization’s mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, positive relations that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of everyone involved. In 2016, the organization served 650 children in the Northwest Florida.
