The Muscogee Co. Dept. of Family and Children Services is the state agency in Georgia that provides protective services for children, families, and other vulnerable populations (including the elderly) within Muscogee Co., GA.  The agency serves clients of all ages from birth to old age.  The agency takes a holistic approach to intervention and considers families to be their clients rather than just one person.  Services are provided to entire families.  Social workers with this agency also provide direct intervention such as counseling to clients rather than refer them to outside agencies for many services needed.

Some travel will be involved primarily for training and to conduct home visits. Students would accompany agency social workers on such visits and would need their own personal vehicle.  A stipend is not available.  Students should obtain their own liability insurance.  Audio and video recording is not permitted.  Agency hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 5:00.  Students would not work on evenings and weekends.  The agency is accessible by bus.  BSW, MSW 1st year, 2nd year and advanced standing, part time and full time.
